Courtney Snyder is in her second year as a Doctor of Musical Arts student in conducting and as a Graduate Student Instructor of the Michigan Marching Band. Ms. Snyder taught for six years in the public schools of Michigan, the final four of which she served as Director of Bands at Ypsilanti High School. Her duties at Ypsilanti included directing three concert bands, a jazz band, the “Marching Braves,” and the pit orchestra for the spring musical. She also served as administrator of the Winter Drumline and Winterguard. Ms. Snyder holds a Master of Music degree in Wind Conducting from Baylor University and a Bachelor of Science degree in Music Education from Indiana University of Pennsylvania. She is a member of the College Band Director’s National Association, the Michigan School Band and Orchestra Association, Pi Kappa Lambda National Music Honor Society and is an honorary member of Tau Beta Sigma.
